Delegate John Bell Speaks Out Against I-66 Tolls

FAIRFAX, Va.: Today along with other Northern Virginia legislators, Delegate John J. Bell (D – Loudoun) spoke out against the exorbitantly high tolls recently imposed on Interstate 66 inside the Beltway.

“The new tolls on I-66 are unacceptable; paying more than $30 to get to work is just too much for Northern Virginia workers,” said Delegate John J. Bell. “We were told that prices would not exceed $17 by VDOT – that obviously isn’t the case. I call on VDOT and Secretary of Transportation Aubrey Layne to stop all tolling until all infrastructure to support the new tolls are in place, including multimodal transportation options as well as commuter parking lots.”

See attached for the letter signed by Northern Virginia Democrats calling for a suspension of the new tolls.
