Bell Bulletin: Sine Die

Dear Constituent,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve you in the Virginia House of Delegates. I am writing to update you after the regular legislative session of the General Assembly.

This year is a budget year, and therefore I as a member of the Appropriations Committee have been busy helping to craft the budget. The budget includes many advantages for Loudoun and Prince William Counties, including pay increases for state employees, teachers, and sheriffs. The House budget also includes Metro funding, Medicaid expansion, and increases in funding for K-12 education.

Unfortunately, the Senate passed a different budget than the House and we were unable to reconcile the differences before adjournment. Therefore, we are headed to special session here in Richmond. I’m hopeful that the House budget will remain intact with all the funding we need to keep Virginia a great place to live, get an education, and work.

In addition, I succeeded in passing five bills through the General Assembly that are waiting the Governor’s signature. These five bills will help the Commonwealth save taxpayer dollars, help EMS volunteers, and aid small businesses to continue operating. I am so thankful to have the ability to improve the lives of those in Loudoun and Prince William Counties. I’m proud of my accomplishments in the House of Delegates, and am always honored to do the good work that the people of the 87th District sent me to Richmond to do.
