Bell Bulletin: First Week of the 400th Year

Can you spot John on the House Floor?

Dear Constituent,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve you in the Virginia House of Delegates for the 2019 Legislative Session.

This year, we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Virginia General Assembly. It was back in 1619 that the first representative legislature 0f the Western Hemisphere and the New World formed here in Virginia. I feel grateful and honored to share in this commemorative year in our Commonwealth and nation’s history. (To learn more, see the American Evolution.)

Welcoming You and Visitors to Richmond

I recently made a video after my first day, sharing about my office in Richmond. (To watch, click here.)

It is a privilege to serve those in the 87th District, and if you have the chance to come down, please come visit me. I would be happy to welcome you and help you make the most of your time here.

State of the Commonwealth Address

Governor Northam delivered an inspiring vision for Virginia on the opening night of the legislative session. He reflected on achievements over the past year, including the success of Medicaid expansion, which has now enrolled over 200,000 Virginians. From giving teachers a salary raise to introducing commonsense and reasonable proposals to prevent gun violence, his message was inspiring to build on our success as a Commonwealth and give every Virginian the chance to live a healthy, successful, and safe life.

It was a great pleasure to host and invite Sree, a friend and constituent in Ashburn, and JD, a student at George Mason University interning in Richmond, to be my guests in the Gallery of the House during the address.
